As one of the oldest museums in the Caucasus, it serves as a unique institution that preserves and promotes the knowledge accumulated about sericulture in Georgia. The reopening event, supported by the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF), emphasized the museum's heritage and its relevance today. AIMF, together with the Tbilisi Development Fund, co-financed the museum's restoration.
The State Silk Museum preserves the historical and cultural heritage of sericulture and interprets it through a modern lens. For the grand reopening, the museum showcased updated displays of its historical collections, along with thematic temporary exhibitions that highlighted significant research projects conducted alongside the museum's restoration.
Thanks to all of our friends, supporters, and visitors who celebrated this special moment with us.
