Permanent exhibition hall displays different collections related to the process of silk making (silkworm biology specimens, research laboratory tools, ethnographic collection etc.), as well as various textiles and other objects associated with their production (weaving looms, wooden moulds, dye collection etc). The collections are displayed in the vitrines made according to the sketches of Aleksander Szymkiewicz.

The exhibition includes restored museum collections from the 2023 Europalia International Festival in Liege, Belgium. In the central hall Tamuna Chabashvili's installation "Traveling Stories" from the series "Boundaries of Vulnerability" (2023)  is temporarily shown, which took part in the Europalia exhibition "Silk" together with the museum. The work will be exhibited in an adapted form and echoes the silk museum's archive and the industrial textiles preserved in the museum's textile collection.

The State Silk Museum library was founded at the same time as the museum. The Caucasian Sericulture Station concept originally included the idea of having a library as a scientific and educational space for the interested audience. The book repository preserved the literature about sericulture as well as some unique publications, periodicals, encyclopedias and dictionaries of other natural science fields. Nowadays, the library stores around 20 000 books and periodicals from the 18th-21st century in Georgian, Russian, English, German, French, Italian, Romanian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabian and other languages.
