Exhibition, featuring the collection from the Silk Museum and works by the artist Tamuna Chabashvili as part of the international festival "Europalia" at the "Les Drapiers" gallery in the city of Liege, Belgium
Belgian artist Jean-Luc Petit's contemporary vision brought together various collections from the State Silk Museum, including 143 exhibits. The samples of silk cocoons, fabrics, and silk threads served as reminders of the development of the silk industry in Georgia and its deep historical context.
Georgian artist Tamuna Chabashvili presented thematic works in the exhibition, such as "The Book of Patterns" (2016) and "Traveling tales" from the "Patterns of (In)security" (2023). Chabashvili's works conceptually explore themes of archives, traces, personal histories, visual and tactile narratives.
In scopes of the exhibition the 3rd edition of the publication "Seri(a)" was presented, created in cooperation with Kona Books publishing and the German artist Olaf Nikolai.
The author of the exhibition concept and design: Jean-Luc Petit.
Location: "Les Drapiers" gallery, Liege, Belgium.
Support: Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports of Georgia and "Europalia."
