The first exhibition in the “Without Museum Objects” series took place in the “Mulberry Room” and focused on the relationship between humans, nature, and silk. Nino Eliashvili was inspired by the museum useing watercolor layers in her paintings (2021) to connect various objects and faceless bodies, mimicking the transparency of silk..

Nino Zirakashvili also addressed the theme of the exhibition. “Entomological Collection” (2018) was inspired by one of the drawers in the museum’s moth collection. Labels gathered in this display box made the visitors contemplate the museum objects that have not survived. In the artist’s book “Herbarium” (2020), she combined industrial textile samples with floral motifs, using minimal information about them.

Participants: Nino Eliashvili, Nino Zirakashvili
