On November 30, 2024, the museum hosted a public presentation of a study by historians Nikoloz Murghulia and Besik Lortkipanidze. The audience was introduced to the strategic importance of the Silk Road, its influence on our culture, and the analysis of epochal events that remain interesting and relevant to this day.

About the Speakers:
Besik Lortkipanidze - Doctor of History. Senior Research Fellow at the Georgian National Museum. Professor at the Georgian-American University. Head of the Khuntsi Fortress Archaeological Expedition and a permanent member of the Nokalakevi International Expedition since 1981. Has 23 years of experience in school pedagogy and holds the status of a mentor teacher. Author of more than 50 scientific publications on the history and archaeology of Colchis and Egrisi, published in Georgia and abroad. Co-author of certified school and methodological textbooks on Georgian and world history for grades VII, VIII, IX, X, and XII.

Nikoloz Murgulia - Doctor of Archaeology. Senior Research Fellow at the Georgian National Museum. Head of the Georgian-British Archaeological Expedition at Nokalakevi. Lecturer at St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Georgian-American University, and Caucasus University. Author and co-author of approximately 50 scientific publications on the history and archaeology of Colchis and Egrisi, published both in Georgia and abroad. Additionally, he has contributed to several works on modern methods and challenges in field archaeology. Co-author of certified school and methodological textbooks on Georgian and world history for grades X-XII.
