Edward Curtis photo exhibition
Edward S. Curtis aimed to preserve the North American Indian lifestyle and traditions even if he had to falsify the reality. He staged many photos, as he wanted to show the authentic environment with no marks of outside world, even if it was already lost. Nevertheless, these images still provide a priceless information about the indigenous cultures, and the Silk Museum exhibit aims to expose it. This exhibition of Edward Curtis’s photographs has the added attraction of being shown in proximity to those of Konstantin Zanis from the silk museum collection. This juxtaposition is a way to demonstrate the uncanny resemblance of the peoples residing in these remote parts of the world – North America and Caucasus.
Opening: September 20, 18:00

Duration: 20 September - 20 October, 2017
