On May 7 2014 at the State Silk Museum was opened an exhibition“Blood on Silk” by Australian visual artist Fiona Davies. Previous shows had been held in Sydney, Istanbul, London and also reached Tbilisi.

This exhibition was a cross-disciplinary collaborative project of ideas between physicist P. Domachuk and his research to develop an implantable silk microchip, providing a platform within the human bloodstream allowing the properties of blood cells to be determined or measured while those cells are still within the body – a biophotonic chip.

From an unordinary material of silk can be produced both, beautiful textile and a bio chip for an intensive therapy. It was a first exhibition of the Silk Museum, demonstrating the unusual opportunities of using silk.

In scopes of this project, visitors of the museum could determine their blood type in a medical lab, specially arranged for the exhibition.
